Japanese black ink painting or Sumi-e "Cat" by Lee Musgrave using convenience ink on rice paper mounted on wall paper liner and framed. Also includes an ink stick and pan originally used by Sumi-e artists. The black ink is made from a mixture of plant soot and glue solidified into sticks or cakes the ends of which are scraped or ground into water on an ink slab, much used by calligraphers and painters.
